Your phone will not always be yours alone
Government phones get shared. A device is handed to a colleague to read a message, left on a desk, passed to a family member, or surrendered on transfer. KaryaYogi is built for that reality, not for a lab where the phone is always in your hand.
Every choice in the security model answers one question: if someone else picks up this phone, what can they see and what can they do? The honest answer we work toward is very little, and nothing without your lock. KaryaYogi is a private planning app, not an authorised system of record, so nothing here is filed officially, but your drafts and estimates are still yours to protect.

The vault
AES-256 encryption on the device itself
Your tools, drafts and estimates are held in a local vault encrypted with AES-256. The data sits encrypted at rest on the device, so a casual look through storage or a file browser does not expose readable content.
The app works offline-first. It runs with the SIM removed and no account, so the vault is your baseline protection whether or not you ever turn on sync. If you do enable the optional paid sync, that transfer is encrypted and hosted in India and keyed to your account; the local vault stays your first line of defence either way. Your one-tap encrypted backup produces a file you hold and control.

App lock
Biometric or PIN, and no account to leak
App lock stands between a handed-over phone and your work. Unlock with your device biometric or a PIN before the tools open. When the phone leaves your hand, the lock is what a colleague or family member meets, not your notes.
There is no account to create, so there are no login credentials to phish, reuse or leak, and no sign-in that ties the app to your identity by default. You can use every one of the 74 tools without an account. That keeps the attack surface small: the thing protecting your data is a lock you set on this device, not a password stored on a server somewhere.

Masking and reset
Masked fields, and an Emergency Reset that wipes clean
Sensitive fields are masked on screen, so a glance over your shoulder or a phone held up to a group does not read out what you typed. Masking reduces what is exposed in the moment you are most likely to hand the phone across a desk.
When a device is being surrendered, lent long-term or is simply no longer yours, Emergency Reset wipes all local KaryaYogi data from the phone. It is a deliberate, one-decision way to leave nothing behind. Reset removes local data, so use your encrypted backup first if you want to restore your work on another device.
