Grievance Redressal
How to raise a data or service concern, who handles it, and the timelines you can expect.

About This Page
This page explains how to raise a concern about your data or your use of KaryaYogi, and how we handle it. It applies to the KaryaYogi Android app and the optional web workspace at my.karyayogi.in.
KaryaYogi is a private planning and productivity app run by the KaryaYogi team. It is a personal aid for organising your own work. It is not an official Government of India system and does not replace eOffice, HRMS, APAR, pay systems, sanction files or any authorised system of record. Its tools produce private drafts and estimates only; nothing you create in KaryaYogi is filed or submitted to any authority on your behalf.
A grievance raised here is about the app and your personal data held by us. It is not a route to the government departments or official systems you work with in your official capacity.
Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act) governs how personal data is handled. Under it, you are the Data Principal (the person the data is about) and KaryaYogi / The KaryaYogi team is the Data Fiduciary (the entity that decides how your personal data is processed).
As a Data Principal, the law gives you rights over your personal data, including:
- the right to access a summary of the personal data we process about you;
- the right to correction, completion or updating of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- the right to erasure of your personal data where it is no longer needed;
- the right to a readily available means of grievance redressal; and
- the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
Because KaryaYogi works offline-first, much of your information stays on your device in an encrypted local vault and never reaches us. These rights apply to the personal data we actually hold, for example if you use the optional encrypted cloud sync or the web workspace.
What Counts as a Grievance
You can raise a grievance about either of the following:
- Data concerns — for example, you believe we hold inaccurate data about you, you want a copy or a summary of your data, you want data corrected or deleted, you have a question about how your data is used, or you think your data has been handled in a way that does not match our published commitments.
- Service concerns — for example, a problem with sync, backup, restore, app lock, the web workspace or your paid plan.
If your concern is specifically about a suspected security weakness or a possible data breach, you may instead write to support@karyayogi.in so it reaches the right team quickly. General privacy questions can go to support@karyayogi.in.
How to Raise a Grievance
Send an email to support@karyayogi.in. This is our contact point for grievances and for questions about your personal data. We aim to make this an easy, single step so you do not have to navigate any complex process.
You do not need an account to use KaryaYogi. If you have never enabled sync or the web workspace, we may hold little or no personal data about you, and we will tell you so honestly in our reply.
What to Include in Your Email
To help us understand and resolve your concern quickly, please include:
- the email address or account you use with KaryaYogi sync or the web workspace, if any;
- a clear description of the concern and what you would like us to do (for example, correct data, delete data, or provide a summary);
- relevant dates or approximate timings;
- the app version and device type, for a service issue; and
- a preferred way for us to reach you.
Please do not attach sensitive or official material. You do not need to send us any official documents, case files or confidential government information to raise a grievance. Share only what is necessary to describe the problem.
Acknowledgement and Resolution Timelines
We aim to acknowledge your grievance within a few working days of receiving it, and to keep you informed as we look into it.
We aim to resolve grievances within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Act and its rules, and as soon as reasonably possible in any case. Some requests, such as verifying your identity before we release or delete personal data, may add a short, reasonable step so that we act on genuine requests only.
If a request will take longer, for example because it is complex or requires more information from you, we will tell you why and give you a realistic sense of the time involved.
If Your Grievance Is Not Resolved
Please give us the first opportunity to put things right through support@karyayogi.in. Most concerns can be settled directly with us.
If you have raised a grievance with us and you are not satisfied with our response, or you do not receive a response within a reasonable time, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India. Under the DPDP Act, the Board is the authority that considers complaints against Data Fiduciaries. The law expects you to first use our grievance mechanism before approaching the Board.
Please refer to official Government of India sources for the current procedure and contact details of the Data Protection Board of India, as these are set by the Government and may change over time.
Scope and Honest Limits
There are some things a grievance to us cannot do, and we want to be plain about them:
- We cannot act on your behalf inside any official government system, and KaryaYogi never files, submits or transmits anything to an authority for you.
- Our planning tools produce private drafts and estimates for your own use; any figure or document they generate is unofficial.
- We can only act on the personal data we actually hold. Data that stays in the encrypted vault on your own device is under your control, and you can remove it, including through the app's Emergency Reset, which wipes all local KaryaYogi data from the device.
If you need a postal address or a named contact person to pursue a grievance formally, that is available on request via support@karyayogi.in. We will not sell your personal data, and we do not run ads or trackers in the app.
